The price hike in coal by about 40% in last 3 months is hurting the Jamnagar Brass industry big time. Small Brass and Bronze foundries face acute financial crisis as they are not able to pass on their increase and recoup the diffidence. The trend to switch to oil fired furnace from coal furnace may gain momentum thanks to higher coal prices.
